The Curious Feast

In the charming little town of Boulangerie, where the sun always seemed to smile and flowers danced merrily in the breeze, lived a man named Andre. At 30, Andre was well-known for his kind heart and warm spirit, always ready to lend a hand to his friends Veronique, Eléonore, and Henri. However, there was one little secret about Andre: he was quite set in his ways. Every day, he would feast on his favorite cheese sandwiches and play the same card game with his friends, refusing to try anything new.

His friends often laughed, teasing him gently. “Andre,” Veronique would say, “why not join us for the new sushi place? It’s an adventure!” But Andre would smile and politely turn down the offer, preferring his familiar sandwiches over new flavors.

One sunny afternoon, while enjoying their usual card game at Henri’s house, the doorbell rang. Henri rushed to answer it and greeted the delivery person, who had a big box of delicious-smelling food. “Oh, I didn’t order any food,” Henri said, puzzled.

“Let’s have a feast!” exclaimed Eléonore enthusiastically. Andre, however, crossed his arms stubbornly. “I can’t eat that,” he protested, glancing at the colorful sushi, spicy noodles, and tangy fruit desserts with trepidation. “I prefer my sandwiches.”

Seeing his friends' eager eyes, Andre felt a pang of longing to join in the joy. Veronique pleaded, “Just one bite, Andre! You might find something you like!”

With a heavy heart but a glimmer of curiosity, Andre finally relented. He picked up a piece of sushi, holding it as if it were a tiny treasure. His friends cheered him on, their gleeful encouragement weaving a magical atmosphere. Closing his eyes, he took a brave bite.

A wave of flavors danced on his tongue—sweet, savory, and something entirely new. “Wow!” Andre exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise. Laughter erupted around the table as he devoured more dishes, his heart expanding with delight.
