Olivia nodded eagerly. “We will, Mom! Right, Danny?” She turned towards her brother, who was quietly arranging his favorite toy cars, each one lined up as meticulously as he liked.

Danny looked up, his blue eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and apprehension. “The woods?” he asked, his fingers fidgeting with the tiny wheels of a red car.

“Yes! The woods! Just a short walk, and then we can explore. I’ll help you if you feel unsure,” Olivia reassured him. “Think of all the cool things we might find!”

With a determined smile, Danny put down his cars and nodded. “Okay. Let’s go.”

As they ventured into the woods, the tall trees stood like guardians, sheltering them from the world's noise. The earth underfoot was soft and mossy, a soft carpet that cushioned their steps. They navigated deeper into the woods, laughter echoing as they spotted a multicolored butterfly dancing in the air. But suddenly, the sky darkened with ominous clouds rolling in, and the cheerful chirping of the birds faded. A cold wind swept through the trees, rattling the leaves.

“Olivia?” Danny’s voice trembled lightly. He had a specific way of sensing changes around him, and the shift in the air made him feel uneasy.

“It’s okay, Danny! Just a little rain, we’ll be fine,” Olivia said, trying to sound braver than she felt. She glanced around, realizing that they had wandered further than intended. “We should head back.”

“Olivia!” Danny shouted, pointing. “The trees... they look the same.”

She took a deep breath, grounding herself. “Okay, let’s stay calm. If we look together, we can find our way. Remember the big oak tree by the stream? We can walk towards the sound of the water.”

“We made it!” she cheered, but on the way back, they stumbled across the creek, now swollen and bubbling with rainwater. A fallen log lay across it, a precarious bridge.

“I can’t…” Danny whispered, his face pale.

“Yes, you can!” Olivia urged gently. “I’ll go first. Just follow me. We can hold hands the whole way!”

With a cautious step, Olivia crossed the log, urging Danny to come after her. At the midpoint, Danny hesitated, panic creeping back in. Remembering the love of her mother, Olivia turned around, her heart throbbing with empathy.

“Danny, look at me! You’re so strong, and I’m right here with you. Just take a step, one foot after the other.”

Danny nodded slowly, his focus shifting to her calm, determined face. One shaky step, then another, and finally, they were on the other side, breathless and triumphant.

“You both are incredible!” Juwels exclaimed, pulling them into a warm embrace. “I was so worried!”

“We were brave, Mom!” Olivia exclaimed, pride bubbling within her. “We found our way back together, even when the rain came!”

Danny smiled shyly, and Juwels crouched to look him in the eyes. “I’m proud of you too, Danny. You showed so much courage.”
