The Princess and the Pea

Once upon a time, in a village nestled among rolling hills and lush meadows, there lived a young prince named Monsour. At sixteen years old, Monsour was eager to find a real princess to be his wife. He longed for someone with a special personality, someone unique among all the maidens he had met.

Years went by, and despite his best efforts, Monsour had not found the princess he sought. Disheartened, he finally decided to return to the grand castle where he lived with his parents and cease his search for the elusive real princess.

One fateful night, a storm of great magnitude swept across the land. Thunder boomed, and lightning crackled through the dark sky, illuminating the village in a dazzling display of nature's power. In the midst of the raging storm, a figure appeared at the castle gates, walking unsteadily towards the entrance.

Inside, the palace servants trembled with fear at the howling winds and crashing thunder, choosing to hide rather than confront the mysterious visitor. But it was the king, Monsour's father, who opened the heavy doors to reveal a drenched and bedraggled young girl standing before him.

The girl introduced herself as a real princess, claiming to seek shelter from the storm. Monsour's mother, skeptical of her claims, devised a test to determine the truth of the girl's royal status. The princess was given dry clothes and led to a bed piled high with mattresses, each one soft and plush.

Unbeknownst to the princess, a single pea seed was placed beneath the bottom mattress. As morning light filtered through the windows, Monsour's mother inquired about the girl's night. The princess confessed that she had not slept well, feeling something hard beneath her that caused discomfort and restlessness.

With a smile, Monsour's mother declared her to be a true princess, her sensitivity proving her royal lineage beyond doubt. Overjoyed, Monsour approached the princess and proposed marriage. She accepted with a heart full of happiness and hope.

The two young royals were wed in a grand ceremony, their love celebrated throughout the kingdom. As they embraced in the glow of their newfound happiness, Monsour and his real princess knew that they would live happily ever after, their bond stronger than any storm and their love as enduring as a castle made of dreams.
